Postdoctoral Research Fellow
(Exploratory Research Center on Life and Living Systems , National Institutes of Natural Sciences)

  1.  Postdoctoral Research Fellow  at Exploratory Research Center on Life and Living Systems , National Institutes of Natural Sciences

  2.  Number of Positions: One

  3.  Project Outline: The "Multiscale Quantum-Classical Life Interface Research Consortium," under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's program is organized by the University of Tokyo's Institute for Solid State Physics as a hub institute, in collaboration with the Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules (ITbM) at Nagoya University, the OptoBio Technology Center (OBtRC) at Nagoya Institute of Technology, and the Exploratory Research Center of Life and Living Systems at National Institute of Natural Sciences (ExCELLS ) to form a new interdisciplinary field. In this project, we aim to create a new interdisciplinary field that connects various proteins involved with light, such as photoreceptive proteins and fluorescent or luminescent proteins, with quantum processes and macro-scale molecular function expression processes, from perspectives of physics, biology, and chemistry. Furthermore, we will undertake the development of next-generation molecular tools for medical and industrial applications, based on established scientific theories. At ExCELLS, we are working to understand the macro-scale molecular dynamics during protein function expression, using primarily on high-speed atomic force microscopy.
